Thai Stem Facial Massage
Thai Stem Facial Massage is a relaxing and therapeutic massage treatment that includes the face and head only.
It helps promote detoxification, stimulate blood, lymph, and energy flows through the head and face, as well as relieve stress and pain. 3 different types of thai stems can be used depending on the clients preference.
Coconut stems (softest) – Ideally suited for those with dry skin as it provides a deeply hydrating treatment.
Sesame stems (moderate firmness) – Ideal for clients who suffer from tension headaches, TMJ issues, or other muscular complaints but are sensitive to pressure. These also promote skin repair and gentle exfoliation.
Clay stems (firmest) – Best suited for those who like deeper pressure and are a great option for those with oily or acne prone skin since they remove excess oil without over-drying the skin.
Avoid these treatments if you are: pregnant, planning to get pregnant, breast feeding, allergic to the ingredients in stems, sensitive to heat or react poorly with heat (ie: rosacea), or are taking medications that cause an unwanted reaction when in contact with heat.
Massage cupping is the combination of massage movements and negative pressure with the use of a suction device on the skin. A cup is positioned at the area to be treated and a vacuum is created within the cup to draw the skin and underlying tissue into the cup. The suction effect that is created increases blood and lymphatic circulation systemically and to the local area, relaxes muscle tissue, draws toxins out of the body and alleviates pain.
Some conditions cupping can be beneficial for include:
- Limited and painful movement
- Digestive issues (ie. Irritable bowel and constipation)
- Chronic cough from excessive mucus
- Painful menstruation
- Lower back pain
